Bon Savants release new track via YouTube

While Boston anxiously awaits the official release of Bon Savants’ follow-up to 2006’s Post Rock Defends The Nation, the relatively quiet math-rock-minded indie band went stealth and posted a wordy new music video to YouTube last night. “Tidal Waves” is a teaser track to their upcoming homonymous sophomore album, which hopefully will get a proper release sometime before Christmas. Word on the street is that it's completely finished and ready to drop.

In the meantime, lead Savant and noted rocket scientist Thom Savant is currently getting his higher education on out in California, so while the future of the band remains uncertain, “Tidal Waves” still proves the Savants can still bring the smart-noise. Thom really channels his inner Jarvis Cocker here, and this could be the Savants’ best jam since the sparkly-eyed single “Between The Moon And the Ocean.”
