Today in the Globe, Dan Shaughnessy calls Tom Brady's comeback stunner "the best comeback concert since Elvis played the International in Vegas in 1969." (This on throwback night, which meant that Elvis was not on the helmets.) We will refrain from lowering ourselves into Elvis-ese in order to argue whether the NBC '68 comeback special would've been a more appropriate reference -- Dan obviously concluded that the appropriate metaphor was Elvis's return to official live performance following eight years in the wilderness, as opposed to the warmup staged for the cameras. A defensible choice: in rock as in football, there is no reason to talk about the pre-season.
In any case, on this occasion, we present to you Elvis's press conference, delivered from the stage (between songs, mind you) from opening night at the International in Vegas in 1969. And resemblance to Tom Brady's press conference last night is purely coincidental.
