Bay-area indie-nerd-avant-hip-hoppers Why? are releasing a new album this fall that's the follow-up to their well-regarded 2008 release Alopecia. The new track, "This Blackest Purse," is more of a bittersweet piano ballad. It still sounds kind of like an aughties update of They Might Be Giants, particularly on the "what should these earnest hands be holding?" line in the hook, but it's an improvement to my ears.
