MP3s: Surviving members of Morphine release new Mark Sandman tracks

Tributes to the late Morphine frontman Mark Sandman -- who died 10 years ago this week, in Italy -- continue to pour in, including our own, and a lengthy piece on Huffington Post. On Friday, the MARK SANDMAN MUSIC PROJECT kicked off a Summer-long celebration of Sandman's musical life, with the first in a weekly series of free downloads. The inaugural offering includes a cover of Morphine's "Cocoon" by Somerville Hi-N-Dry-affiliated singer-songwriter STEVE MAYONE, as well as what they're calling an unreleased Sandman "spoken word" track. (We recommend these mainly if you are a fan of absurdist funk poetry in the vein of Gibby Haynes, trashcan dadist Tom Waits,
