So much for New York Mag's proposed moratorium. Even before the horrible extended bonus edition that Constantine Margoulis performed on the Tonys last night, we'd pretty much had enough of "Don't Stop Believing," which is well on its way to becoming Gen Y's "Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow)." It's no secret that the Sopranos finale, back in 2007, slapped the paddles back on the song's sales, rocketing it to the top of iTunes all-time catalog chart. And that was logn before the cast of Glee -- FOX's attempt at a High School Musial for grownups -- helped propel DSB to the #1 song on iTunes, period.
We'll just overstate the obvious here: the most popular version of "Don't Stop Believing" on YouTube, a fan-posted live version, has been viewed nearly 18 million times -- which works out to more than eight views per minute, every minute, since that particular version of the video was posted four years ago. For fuck's sake, isn't that enough?
