As usual, Pete Wentz did all of the talking between songs, not to mention all the DJ-ing at the afterparty back in Boston at Gypsy Bar. On stage, they partied like rock stars: maximum pyro, huge vidscreens, the dude from Cobra Starship hanging around on a BMX and chipping in on vocals for a bit. Crowd: young enough that Pete had to ask to figure out who was in high school and who was in middle. Further cementing the notion that emo kids love Michael Jackson, they played "Beat It" (Wentz: "a song you can fuck to fuck to, fight to, and dance to," before apologizing to everyone's mom for the profanity). Highlight for the 13-year-old girls was the band's mid-set strip-tease, choreographed in backlit shower stalls that tastefully switched to silhouettes when they got down to their skivvies (those girls have probably seen Wentz's package on the internet, anyway). Thanks to the dude who did pushups all the way through "Steroids," thus earning the crowd a round of free t-shirts, and also to the girl who threw baseballs at the dude in the Yankees jersey. No sign of Ashlee at the afterparty, but whaddya want for a $9 Cape Codder?
