Rock. Fucking. Star.
First Anthony Rossomando stole Pete Doherty's band. Now, Rossamondo has reportedly stolen Doherty's girl, too.
According to the British tabloid Sky News, Rossomando -- known to Boston rock fans as guitarist in the fantastic moddish garage-punk band the Damn Personals, he replaced the drug-addled Doherty in the Libertines and is now in Libertines' frontman Carl Barat's new band Dirty Pretty Things -- has allegedly hooked up with Doherty's fucktoy Kate Moss, who of course was last seen on the cover of every fishwrap on three continents vaccuming the contents of Pete's stash up her nose. The Sky reports unnamed sources quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying that "the fact that [Moss] keeps hooking up with [Doherty's] mates really upsets him." We haven't had a chance to ask him whether it's true, and hell, it's the British tabloids, who have a sworn allegiance to making shit up. Then again, Anthony's personal myspace page says he's "in a relationship." HMMMMMM.... [<--- irony]
Anthony Rossomando. Accused of stabbing model gash? Not bad for a kid who got his start blowing trumpet in (you guessed it) a couple of Connecticut ska bands. (Shades of the Bravery!) For those of you who missed the New England ska scene, you can check out Rossomando's old bands via their MySpace pages -- anyone remember J.C. Superska and Johnny Too Bad and the Strikeouts?
In any case, we'll be trying to get the scoop straight from the horse's mouth when Dirty Pretty Things make their Boston debut August 13 at the Fenway Sessions at Great Scott [details], with Foreign Islands, Scissors for Lefty, and our dude DJ Carbo.
