Forty-eight hours from now, the voting will commence online for the Mass. Industry Committee's first annual Hip-Hop Awards. The voting begins May 10 at http://massindustrycommittee.com/ and will run through June 10, said MIC President Daneja and Vice President Lyrical, who addressed artists and fans at a press conference last Saturday night at Hoffa's, on Mount Auburn Street in Cambridge. (Guests included Edo G, JV Darapsinga, Iroq, DL, and Dre Robinson.) There will be a limit of one vote per person, and there are also several voting locations available outside of the internet including Massive Records on Mass. Ave. in Cambridge and Shockwave Communications on Washington Street in Dorchester. Categories include artist of the year, duo of the year, single of the year, and mixtape of the year (click here to see the nominees). A red-carpet awards show will take place June 17 at John Hancock Hall, 180 Berkley Street. Doors open at 5 PM sharp, and the show will start at 6:17 PM sharp. Tickets for the event can be purchased on the website with VIP tickets available for $50 and general admission for $25. Stay tuned.
