New Moz, Same Mope

The new Morrissey album, "Ringleader of the Tormenters", continues to slowly leak all over the internet and the 18-year-old version of OTD is sooooooo totally exicitied! Last week, the slightly Middle-Eastern "I Will See You In Far Off Places" emerged and bore the heavy thumbprint of film scoring legend and notable octogenarian Ennio Morricone.

On the other hand "Dear God, Please Help Me" lines up evenly with classic solo Moz. Think "I Know It's Going To Happen Someday" or a vastly superior "Seasick Yet Docked." And for those of you who didn't spend your teenage years memorized by a man with flowers in his back pocket, the song is slow and pretty and full of devastatingly over-the-top ruminations. Highlight: Morrissey, concerned about "explosive kegs/between [his] legs," wonders if God Himself has ever felt the same way. You can't make this stuff up!
