Volcano Suns reunion

Sarah Tomlinson will report this in next week's Phoenix:
With the new Mission of Burma album in the can, drummer Peter Prescott and fourth member/ tape manipulator/sound engineer Bob Weston are reuniting their other art-punk band, VOLCANO SUNS, for a December 29 show at the Middle East.
They’ll be joined by KUDGEL, whom Weston once recorded at Steve Albini’s house.
You can thank Yo La Tengo guitarist/vocalist Ira Kaplan, who asked the Suns to play his band’s annual Hanukkah residency at Maxwell’s in Hoboken; they accepted, and decided to play a hometown show as well. Unlike Burma, this won’t be a permanent reformation. Prescott can’t offer any set-list spoilers, since the list hasn’t been worked out yet, but old fans can rest easy. “There’ll be nothing new,” he says. “It will be a total reunion-whore type, hopefully songs that everybody knows, really just pure fun.”
