White Stripes cover Tegan & Sara

This so would have been more interesting yesterday. Sorry.

Jack and Meg cover the recent Tegan and Sara alt-rock hit "Walking with a Ghost." That's about all there is to this one. Finished product: a little disappointing, but then again, so is pretty much everything the White Stripes do these days. Ho hum. That said, can we still argue that the general idea -- the big band throwing shine at smaller band's hit part, not the general-half-assedness part -- is a good thing? Details for retail: coming to iTunes in December, being serviced to radio now-ish. Details at the Modern Age, make sure to read the comments. Or stream it here:

LISTEN: White Stripes, "Walking with a Ghost" (stream)

Anyway, the least of our complaints is that Jack picked the wrong tune. The best T&G songs have titles repeating the same word or phrase three times:

LISTEN: Tegan and Sara, "I Know, I Know, I Know" (mp3)
LISTEN: Tegan and Sara, "Monday Monday Monday" (mp3)
