OTD Exclusive: Westerberg speaks

Remember that Paul Westerberg gig OTD told you about last week? "Official" review is in print this week, paired with a band that makes Robby Roadsteamer sound like Carrot Top.

What you will not find in print, because it's a newspaper, is the following bit of digital recording. After the gig, a couple of Boston pop luminaries tried to lure Westerberg out to catch the end of the Sox/Yanks game, but he decided to stay put, slug back Maker's Mark, and shoot the shit with the Phoenix. We were able to save some REAL (slurred) WORDS words from the man himself onto our hard drive. Here are some excerpts, in the popular mp3 format. Unfortunately, mp3s do not allow you to tell the douchebags in the background to shut up:

LISTEN: Paul Westerberg speaks on Prince, Bob Dylan, the Replacements not making fun of Bob Dylan, and why (allegedly) Bob Dylan tours (mp3).

LISTEN: Paul Westerberg speaks on Tommy Stinson and the Guns N Roses/Replacements track that might have been (mp3).

LISTEN: Paul Westerberg on his first concert (as told to Pat Healy)

LISTEN: Paul Westerberg on opening for Humble Pie and Grandmaster Flash, and why the Replacements' best gigs were "for black policemen" (as told to Pat Healy) (mp3).
