Cancelled, but listen anyway

Not coming tonight to a reggaeton club near you.

The Viva La Bam tour, which would've taken place tonight but has been cancelled, would've been a bit of a letdown anyway -- at least if you were expecting, say, Bam Margera and Turbonegro. Instead, the plan was to get fat uncle Don Vito and some other kid, along with bands that no one who isn’t still in high school has heard of. But if you're wondering why fans of Cave In, Mars Volta, and Shudder To Think are bummed out right now, check out OPEN HAND. They're kids who do many things well (stoner rock, shoogaze psychedelia, moon pop, prog-metal), sometimes all at once, and boast a singer with a major-label falsetto.

LISTEN: Open Hand, "Tough Guy" (mp3)
LISTEN: Open Hand, "Crooked Crown" (stream)
