Doh-doh-doh-doh ah-ow!

We have seen the future of...

...barefoot-lunatic-chick-noise-rock...

... and it’s ...

Afrirampo!

Holy God, we’re still speechless from the two 20-year-old Japanese chicks who blew our brain to bits last Tuesday night at the MassArt gym: Afrirampo won't just scramble your brain, they’ll make it into a fritatta. They started their set like two Osaka-bred dodo birds trying to warn each other about a prowling cat. “Doh-doh-doh-doh-doh!” they yelled from the windows behind the MassArt bleachers, confusing everyone who’d cluelessly gathered around the plywood stage down on the gym floor. Then they ran down and crashed the stage barefoot and went Doh-doh-doh-doh AH! and Doh-doh-doh-doh ah-ow! and Fam-fam-fam-fam! and Es-can-ta-ba-ba! Es-can-ta-ba-ba! and Ah-so! and Sabang! and Yeeeeeeeee! and rolled their tongues and howled like demented monkeys for 30-plus-minutes and changed our lives forever.

LISTEN: Afrirampo on WFMU (live radio-show stream), from last fall.
