1. You read about it in Download this week; and you may have read about it elsewhere, but just in case: there's a new Certified Bananas mix, just in time for tonight's big event at Enormous Room. And hopefully our item on Caps and Jones's mix will stick in your ear for a minute, since those dudes are now confirmed as special CB guests for July 1.

Belated shouts/apologies to Mark E. Moon and CB's P. Nice, who were on the same bill last Friday at PA's Lounge: Mark E. in PiT, and P.Nice rocking the decks in his ridiculously focussed hip-hop soul revue Miss Fairchild, who brought flutes and mannequins and choreographed dance routines even though the audience could've fit under a cocktail napkin. (OTD vamoosed all the sudden, after looking at watch and realizing the train was about to leave the station.) Um, if you guys happen to read this: did anyone introduce you guys to each other? 'Cause we think there needs to be some cross-polination happening soon.

2. Sometimes a writer at the paper does something special, something that makes you proud. Our man Ted D. did something like that this month. He wrote two articles in a row with "pussy" in the lead. Shit like that's hard to do. But that's what happens when you start listening to Tunnel of Love. Can't stress that band hard enough. OTD's gonna have that music cover framed.

Night #1 of Plunge Into Death week, Ume, Lucero, the Honorary Title, and Electrelane. Also, off the radar, Dresden Dolls filming a DVD at the Paradise.
