Punks V. Kabbala

It's the kind of story you can only find in Brookline: DIY community arts center teams up with hardcore-punk promoters to try and stave off eviction, raises hundreds of thousands of dollars in a matter of weeks (including contribution from one Red Sox higher-up), only to get OWNED at the last second when the landlord sells out to . . . a Kabbalah Center. That's just the overview to what's gonna be one of the weirdest subcultural skirmishes of the spring. Check the Honeypump board thread here where Jonah Bloodbath (of Teenage Disco Bloodbath Records and the band As Long As We're All Living We're All Dying) announces an action. In all seriousness, the Brookline Community Center for the Arts was one of those all-around-great enterprises: all ages grindcore shows in one room, elementary-school-aged kids in dance classes in another.
