Damn those Clickers

1. If you were standing outside Great Scott on Friday around 2 a.m., you'd have seen a veritable hug-fest between the members of soon-to-be-defunct post-punk Honeypump darlings Clickers; they'd just played an emotional set, also one of their last. The band left fans slack-jawed last week with the announcement of its impending break-up (a final all ages show is TBA in June) just hours after the listening party for their debut 12-inch split with Best Music Poll nominees Night Rally. Lost in all the message-board weepiness was that the band, now ostensibly finished, had a secret gig scheduled for Thursday night. The birthday-party show also featured sets from Count Zero, indie-pop mama Tanya Donelly, room-clearing noise divas Donna Parker and Kate Village, and pop crooner Ad Frank and the Fast Easy Women.

2. The triumphantly epic instru-metal band Tides have a new video , taken from a recording of their record release party at the Coolidge Corner Theater in February. Hailing from Plattsburgh, NY, Tides are the latest edition to Jonah "As Long As We're All Living We're All Dying" Livingston's local hardcore label Teenage Disco Bloodbath records. The band's full length "Resurface" was TDB's first major release, after two years of splits and singles, and got some good press.

3. What with Hydrahead getting all Viced-out and shit, and Pelican getting reviewed in the New York Times (fuck digging up a archive link, especially on a weekend), it's nice to see Mark and Aaron getting their panic-metal on: reaching back East from their LA digs, the boys have just signed Providence's Daughters.
