Where's the Brown poll on Cicilline-Doherty?

Brown University's Taubman Center released a new poll of Providence residents yesterday. Nothing terribly revelatory: residents are concerned about the city's finances, but still like their mayor.

I don't begrudge Brown this poll. It was taken in conjunction with an annual urban affairs conference and will serve some purpose there, I'm sure. But am I the only one who thinks it odd that Brown hasn't yet polled First Congressional District voters on the race for David Cicilline's seat?

This is the marquee race in the state. And with growing talk that the Democrats could actually take back the House of Representatives, it even has national implications.

The race's remarkable fluidity makes it an attractive subject of a poll, too. There is, no doubt, a big audience for an independent, up-to-the-minute snapshot of where the electorate stands. A bigger audience, I'd hazard, than that for the Providence survey.

We're waiting.
