A couple of years ago, it would've been hard to imagine a prominent Rhode Island Democrat placing a premium on a Patrick Kennedy endorsement. Former Congressman Kennedy, however effective at bringing federal largesse to Rhode Island, was not terribly popular at home.
But Democrats, of course, have a better opinion of Kennedy than the general electorate. And his successor, Congressman David Cicilline, is running in a Democratic primary at the moment. Hence, the prominent mention of the endorsement in Cicilline's new ad.
Let's see if Patches shows up in the general election. I'd be a little surprised.
