Clinton to Stump for Caprio

Big win for the Caprio campaign - and some Obama/Clinton friction that is sure to attract more national press. From the Caprio camp (note the careful nod to Obama):

President Bill Clinton will campaign with Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Frank Caprio on Sunday, October 31st.

President Clinton will tell voters that if they want to see job creation and sustained economic growth in Rhode Island, Frank Caprio is the only choice on November 2.

Caprio - a longtime Clinton supporter - said he's thrilled to have President Clinton back in Rhode Island. Carprio was an enthusiastic supporter of President Clinton in 1991, early in his first presidential bid. And Caprio supported Hillary Clinton's presidential bid in 2008.

President Clinton previously campaigned for Caprio earlier this summer in Providence. This return to Rhode Island had been planned over the last several weeks.

"When Clinton was president, working class Americans knew they had a fighter in the oval office, and we saw unprecedented economic growth as a result," said Caprio. "I'm a Clinton Democrat and Rhode Island is Clinton Country. I will work with the Obama administration to advance the Democratic priorities that are going to create jobs in this state. I will fight on behalf of Rhode Islanders every single day."
