Rhode Island Pivot

President Obama's pivot to jobs last night finds an echo in Rhode Island, where the Congressional delegation - no doubt a little spooked by Scott Brown's surprise victory in Massachusetts - issued a raft of statements reinforcing the president's economic message and assuring voters that they, too, have put jobs at the top of their list of concerns.

Another less-than-subtle signal: Congressman Patrick Kennedy brought a small business owner to the State of the Union as his guest and is touting his introduction of the GROW America's Small Businesses Act, which would allow small businesses to defer taxes in favor of hiring and investment.

With a bit of buzz building around Kennedy's Republican challenger, state Representative John Loughlin II, expect to see a lot of the Congressman in the district touting job creation and his bring-home-the-bacon post on the House Appropriations Committee.
