Kennedy Spokeswoman: Patrick Kennedy Not Headed to Peace Corps

Rumors that Patrick Kennedy might leave Congress to take over the Peace Corps, mentioned on Buddy Cianci's talk show today, are not true, according to the Congressman's spokeswoman, Kerrie Bennett. Kennedy, she said, will run for re-election.

Indeed, Kennedy seems comfortable in the House of Representatives, where he is slowly clmbing the ladder on the powerful Appropriations Committee.

After the death of Patrick's father, Senator Ted Kennedy, the Congressman is the only member of the famous clan who still holds public office. I'll take a look at the weight of his political inheritance, and where he might be headed, in a story that will land on the cover of both the Providence Phoenix and Boston Phoenix this week.
