Asian-American Journalists Association Seeks Volunteers

Phil Marcelo, Providence City Hall reporter for the ProJo and all around good guy, sends this call for volunteers at the Asian American Journalists Association's convention:

Be part of the action! The Asian American Journalists Association is holding its 2009 convention in August at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. The association is looking for volunteers who can pitch in to make the event a success.

Volunteers typically work shifts of four hours (no special skills needed) and then get a pass for the rest of the day, which they can use to enjoy some convention workshops.

For more information on the convention, which will be held from Aug. 12 to Aug. 15, go to www.aaja.org.

To volunteer, email aajavolunteers2009@gmail.com or go to facebook.com to the "AAJA New England" page and look under "Upcoming Events."

Questions? Contact Philip Marcelo at (401) 277-7493 in the Providence Journal newsroom or at pmarcelo@projo.com.
