Tuesday: community wants its bailout

From NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley:

What: Town Hall Meeting to create a community-based economic stimulus package

When: Tuesday December 30, 2008

Event begins at 6:00 pm

Where: Chaplin Perez Community Center, 37 Center St. Woonsocket, RI

Details: We all know that tough times are here.  Each day, we watch or read news that projects an uncertain future.  We hear of Congress, of “bail outs, “economic recovery”, and “stimulus packages” and that there is hope but it will be costly.  It seems that the focus is so far from us and our daily lives; it’s on banks and car manufacturers but no one is talking about our families and our communities.  This event will bring the focus from Washington back to our neighborhoods.  On December 30th from 6-7:30pm at Chaplin Perez Community Center (37 Center St. Woonsocket, RI), there will be letters available for individuals to fill out and we will all design a community economic recovery package that fits our neighborhood.  Now is the time for us to decide how we want to spend $1 trillion!

It is time to act and we must act fast to have our voices heard before a recovery package is passed that does not represent our community.
