DebateWatch planned tomorrow at RIC

This event was set before this week's news, so we'll have to wait to see whether it's just Obama . . .

From RIC:

Rhode Island College is again partnering with the National Commission on Presidential Debates to hold a public forum on Friday, Sept. 26 to analyze the first televised McCain/Obama presidential debate as part of the college’s DebateWatch project that promotes civic participation and voter education in a presidential election year.

The statewide DebateWatch forum at RIC will begin with a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) in the Donovan Dining Center that will include many of the state’s past and present office holders and political experts, followed by viewing of the presidential debate at 9 p.m. on large screen televisions. Focus group discussions, led by trained facilitators, will take place immediately after the debate.

Reporter Jim Hummel will host.

Local political reporters will comprise a “Meet The Press”- style media panel to interview the dignitaries and audience members, and provide political commentary.
