RI GOP slates "Patriots Party"

As the old George Carlin routine has it, baseball is lovey-dovey and football is war-like, so does this make for GOP synergy with the gridiron? The RI GOP seems to think so:

      The Chargers got off to a lousy start last year, too, but battled their way into the AFC title game. But then again, losing Merriman hurts them just as bad as losing Brady hurts the Pats.

      Pat...good question, especially since I believe Kraft's a Democrat (which probably puts him in a distinct minority among pro sports executives).
