Obama, Clinton have new surrogates

You know we're in the home stretch when you see stuff like this.

Obama (from his campaign):

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Obama campaign will hold a conference call with Rhode Island reporters TODAY, Tuesday, February 26th at 11:00 AM EST, to launch the Rhode Island Truth Squad.  The members of the Truth Squad are: Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch, Former U.S. Attorney Meg Curran, and Providence Lawyer and Activist Angel Taveras.

On the call, Truth Squad members will discuss their plans to beat back any unfounded attacks against Senator Obama in the final days of the Rhode Island campaign, and show Rhode Islanders why Barack Obama is the only candidate in this race who will bring change we can believe in.

Clinton (an e-mail sent to N4N):

We have worked too hard, We have come too far, and We have fought too long to allow our candidate, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, to get unjust treatment in the media and on the internet.

This has not been a fair fight when it comes to how our candidate's words and actions are misrepresented and misconstrued to voters. The other candidate has been given a "pass" and handled with "kid gloves" while our candidate is consistently damned if she does and damned if she doesn't.

The time is now to join the HILLARY RAPID RESPONSE team and fight the factual untruths.
