The Obama campaign put the unofficial estimate for the crowd at in excess of 2200 people.
Following an intro by Patrick Lynch and her brother, Craig Robinson, Michelle Obama wowed the crowd with an enthusiastic 30-plus minute address. Her opening half on middle-class anxiety seemed Democratic boilerplate, yet also a message to gin up support among the working class Rhode Islanders who form part of Hillary's base. She then launched into the rationale for her husband's campaign, as well as its message of change and commitment.
She's an impressive speaker, and the crowd loved it.
