Make history or we're history

Well, not exactly, but you get the drift.

My faith has been wanting in the past. From around this time, three years ago:

I’ll admit it. Like a number of other folks, I thought the Red Sox’ season was over when the by-now-almost-worthy-of-sympathy Yankees took a 4-3 lead over Boston into the ninth inning of game four of the American League Championship Series on Sunday, October 17. Not wanting to see the New Yorkers celebrating at Fenway Park, I dejectedly turned off the TV and trudged upstairs to an uncomfortable sleep.

We know how that turned out.

But a certain fatalism comes with being a Sox fan.

I chatted with Governor Carcieri at the State House today, and even he was frustrated with how Jacoby Ellsbury has been relegated to the bench.

Meanwhile, the latest Manny controversy, IMHO, is much ado about nothing.

Yes, my confidence has been shaken, but have no doubt that I want the Sox to win.

In 2003, I was at the Wild Colonial when Boone hit that home run. I was there in 2004 when the Sox won it all. And I'll be there with some friends tonight.
