Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian applauded the group's efforts saying, “The only way to become the majority party in this state is to encourage our young people to be active in their government. The College Republicans are the leading force in this state to do just that.”

The nuts and bolt training event this Saturday will feature lectures and breakout sessions covering everything needed to run a successful College Republican chapter. Students will be given CRFRI created chapter manuals and chapter boxes complete with posters, recruitment materials and “goodies”.

“The College Republican Federation of Rhode Island is organizing a grassroots effort of unprecedented proportions for the 2008 elections, and that starts this Saturday. In a state so needing of change, ‘R’ stands for ‘reform’. The event this Saturday will teach College Republican leaders how to be the grassroots force that provides the votes, volunteers and earned media needed to bring about real and lasting change in Rhode Island,” said Chairman Ryan Bilodeau.
