About that Kennedy endorsement...

The problem with treating Hillary Clinton's Massachusetts-primary win as a loss for Ted Kennedy--as the Globe's Joan Vennochi does today--is that Kennedy's endorsement of Barack Obama wasn't just about Massachusetts.

If it was, Kennedy would have announced his endorsement here. Instead, he did it in Washington, D.C. Ditto for John Kerry, who unveiled his support for Obama in South Carolina.

Yes, Clinton's MA victory has to be a disappointment for Kennedy and Kerry and Deval Patrick. Vennochi's right about that. But let's not make our state seem more important than it actually is.

P.S.--Dan Kennedy makes a related point about Obama's MA endorsements here.
