Marcus exits WBUR

A couple months ago, I cited former Boston magazine editor Jon Marcus's arrival at WBUR-FM as proof that Paul LaCamera's tenure at the helm was going swimmingly. Marcus took the managing editor's job on a trial basis, but definitely sounded like he wanted to stay. Here's what I wrote at the time:
Marcus contrasts the current anxieties of print journalism (diminishing news holes, declining ad revenues, ebbing circulation, and job cuts) with what he sees in public radio in general and at WBUR in particular (passionate, enthusiastic employees, the like of which he hasn’t seen in print lately). “I don’t mean to cast aspersions on the print world,” Marcus says, “but there’s a lot of stress and cynicism there."
Apparently, something changed: Media Log has learned that Marcus left the station last week.

I'm still trying to get more information on the circumstances that led to Marcus's departure. In the meantime, stick an asterisk on the aformentioned story.
