The Quotable Mr. Tyler

So, city councilor Mike Ross has been upbraided for his little parking-ticket racket. Here's the Herald's take, and here's the Globe's. Nice juicy story for those of us who love Boston politics.

My favorite part, though, is the way Sam Tyler of the Boston Municipal Research Bureau sized up the practice that Ross abused--i.e., city councilors' ability to get tickets dismissed if they were issued while the councilor in question was tending to council business. Quoth Sam to the Globe: "In light of the problem that Michael has encountered in distinguishing the legitimate work tickets from other tickets, this seems to be an appropriate time to review whether this is a policy that should continue."

Dry. Patronizing. Like a principal talking about an unruly student. I love it.
