Purple day, or, It Gets Better local edition

These triangles, and a lot of purple sweaters, are all over Portland (and the US) today.

I've been working over the last few days to launch a local version of the It Gets Better project, and it looks like it's coming together! Expect to see some short videos here and on the IGB site over the next few weeks. If you'd like to contribute, please contact me at

I hear that Bowdoin's Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity is working on its own set of videos.

Plus, one of my contacts alerted me to the Make It Better project, which reminds high schoolers that they don't necessarily have to wait -- they have the power to make change now.
