Five more things to eat (out of 50; #s 11-15)

Previous installments are here and here

  • Beals ice cream from one of their several locations around Greater Portland
  • Crow, with coconut curry chicken poppers and a pitcher of beer, when your friend beats you bowling at Bayside Bowl (58 Alder St, Portland) on a rainy day.
  • A beer you've never tried before -- ask your server for a recommendation from the ever-rotating draught selection, or pick at random from more than 300 bottled choices -- on the deck at Novare Res (you should know where it is by now). Pair your beverage with a sandwich from Novare's well-curated food menu, and you can make a night of it.
  • Pie. Fruit pie. Make your own, with hand-picked berries. Or buy some at a hole-in-the-wall.  Where is the best place to get not-homemade fruit pie in Maine? Downeast Magazine says there's a country store in Warren that makes the best cream pies. I need the same authority re: fruit. Is it a diner? A country store? A high-end restaurant? Your kitchen? Please enlighten me.
  • Fresh oysters at Schooner Landing in Damariscotta, watching the boats bring in today's haul
