More bridge jumpers? Baldacci policies say Yes

You may have heard this morning about a woman who tried to jump off the Casco Bay Bridge twice in 24 hours over the weekend - she was rescued by police both times.

What news reports are missing so far are the indications that the Baldacci administration's policies will only lead to more such human tragedies.

Among the $63 million in cuts Baldacci has proposed in his latest round of panicked budget-slashing nearly $2.5 million in state funding for human services including help for the mentally ill and women at risk.

But Baldacci does believe that Maine taxpayers should continue to subsidize big business and the wealthy.
