The MoveOn.org folks are out in Post Office Park right now, asking people to take the "Bush-McCain Challenge," in which you attempt to determine whether Bush, McCain, or both of them said or did something.
Turns out, as you might have suspected, it's hard to tell the difference on the questions they've chosen - which cover a lot of ground. (Not covered? Which of them showed up to serve his country in Vietnam? Which of them was tortured by the North Vietnamese and refused to be handed over in a prisoner exchange, even though his father was the head of US forces in the Pacific, which made him a very valuable trading pawn? Which of them was embroiled in a campaign-finance scandal very shortly after he entered the US Senate that nearly ended his political career?) (See below for answers.)
And they're handing out other info on McCain's record - such as yesterday's Congressional Quarterly report that McCain - when he bothered to show up to vote in the Senate - has voted with Bush every single time this year, and 95 percent of the time last year.
I got three out of five correct on the questions I was asked - there are two other sets of questions. If you miss the folks outside on this gloriously beautiful day, you can take the quiz online at Bush-McCainChallenge.com.
answers: McCain, McCain, McCain.
