Community space on the Hill -- meeting Thursday

At 7 p.m. tomorrow night, East End city councilor Kevin Donoghue will convene a neighborhood meeting at the Cummings Center on Munjoy Hill. His purpose is to evaluate, with the help of local residents, the adequacy of community space on the Hill -- with the ultimate goal of figuring out just how much of the new Adams School development should be devoted to public space (for meetings, performances, classes, etc.) rather than housing. Most everyone agrees that there should be at least a little of both, but organizations like the Community Building Collaborative, A Company of Girls, and, of course, the money-strapped city, all have their particular wants and needs.
