WISDOM - Sophia's owner goes big-time

Stephen Lanzalotta, owner of Sophia's Restaurant on Market Street, is open this week, in the middle of taking some time off from his business, according to the large sign in his window, to market his new book, The Diet Code, based on his "DaVinci Diet," developed in response to the low-carb craze that cost his bakery a lot of business.

The diet, based on Leonardo DaVinci's theory of the Golden Ratio, a numerical expression of aesthetic qualities said to be naturally pleasing to the human eye, and said to recur throughout natural and human structures, ends up being roughly 52 percent carbohydrates, 20 percent protein, and 28 percent fat.

The restaurant will be open today through Wednesday, before closing again until early April. And Sunday brunches are off until September.
