INTERNET - Maine podcast goes big

Maine's first video podcasters, Mary Jenkins and Karla Preston, have entered the stratosphere of podcasting, joining the Podshow Network, home to some of the Internet's very first podcasts, including the Daily Source Code, by former MTV VJ Adam Curry, known almost as well now for founding podcasting.

The duo's talk-and-comedy podcast, distributed through iTunes, is in both audio-only and video-enabled formats, which will now include advertising arranged by Podshow.

It is produced by Preston's "Sexy Boyfriend," as he is called on the podcast, Franklin McMahon, a Portland-based photographer and media artist. It went from audio-only to video right at the time the video iPod launched, drawing worldwide attention as one of the first video podcasts.
